I'm having an issue with IE6+ pc in using the margin-left property. Apparently it's giving it more pixels than what I declare it. Surprisingly it looks fine on IE / safari mac and Firefox for pc. Is there some kind of hack for this? Thanks for any help in advance.

what is your padding and spacing set at

try using vicks formula 44 for that hack.

here's the code:
.page {
display:block;
border: solid 1px #e8e8e8;
width:780px;
margin-top:64px;
margin-right:60px;
margin-left:60px;
}
thanks again...

yeah!!! So what's wild is that the top property works fine, it's the left property that's out of wack. I know the back slash hack for the Mac "A rattie- tat-tat!!! Because it's like that so step off and hae a heart attack" - oops sorry - yes I went there. Anyways, using the mac back slash would probably work but it doesn't fix it for Firefox. Hmmmm... Thanks for any thoughts...

Might be inheriting some weird padding. I would try this:
.page {
display:block;
border: solid 1px #e8e8e8;
width:780px;
margin:64px 60px 0 60px;
padding: 0;
}IE is a bitch though. If you send a link I could take a look.

ah yes!!! I have tried that as well, thanks tho'. Sorry but nothing is actually live right now. If you run a quick test and grab my code from this thread it'll do the same, but I'm sure that would asking too much. Although Firefox does have a nice little css edit thing going on. Thought I'd just share that...

do you have padding set in your css types?
- mrock0
not sure what you man by types? yes there are some in other classes if that's what you mean, but I added a padding:0; to my .page classes just to make sure but nothing changed.

drew a blank while typing i guess, busy on some other stuff, but yes, that is what i was referring to.
you should post or email

Holy freakin cow!! I just found a crack-a hack for css on IE for PC, not sure how this looks on a MAC but I guess you can use this as some type of IE sniffer since IE6 doesn't render well. So I tried
and it freakin works. Of course I still have the original class (.page) in my include file. This IE hack or formula 44 or whatever sits on my main page. Which makes me wonder how much CSS sucks, can't everything just be flash?argh... Anyways thanks to all who've made this thread worth posting. Yay!!!
