O.K I'm starting fresh, New logo, new site, new work.
any of these work for ya?

I like your old one better. Your new logo looks very corporate borderline boring.
The first one is probably the best out of them all.
- D_Dot0
hahah you really like the idea of the old one? I figured it would be ridiculed.

whats the concept?
- D_Dot0
Just a personal portfolio, I'm re-doing the color scheme logo etc..
The logo is supposed to mimick a paint swatch, other than that it really has no meaning. I'm not married to it, just messing around.

I guess it depends on how you use the new logos. The type treatments seems too heavy. I like the 3rd typeface. Not sure about that fan thing. You will definitely loose details if you shrink the logo. I still think they look too corporate.
Hey u from Ontario? I'm from Toronto, but now in Banff until August.
- D_Dot0
I'm from London, ON and moved to North Van in December. Why are you headin' back?
- piperboytoy0
Banff sucks. I would like it more if i hadn't broke my wrist snowboarding last year. Now I'm paranoid to go again.
I might head down to Vancouver in September, my family is there so I might stay for a few months or so. What is the job market like for freelancers?
What's in North Vanncouver?
- D_Dot0
That sucks about snowboarding injury, I'm pissed the snow sucked here this season. Although it seems Whistler just got a foot or so and is expecting more.
As for freelance work.. I really can't say, it seems as though someone is always looking for work to be done, although they want it done cheap.
North Van was just the happy medium of city life and mountain access. Great neighbourhood though.

skip the logo for your personal work, just work up a great type treatment.
- piperboytoy0
we had a foot of snow last week too. The weather here has been so warm too. I don't mind because I'm use to the freezing cold Toronto winters. It's nice to have mild winters.
- D_Dot0
Thats a good suggestion kld I guess I just figured that I "have" to have a logo, but really, Why? I'm never gonna be a "nike" or "McDonalds"
fuck it.. no logo it is.
- kld0
maybe when you start a studio with other peeps or something.
- D_Dot0
that would be nice eventually, right now I'm just hoping to get in somewhere that doesn't mind molding me into a better designer and teaching me a few things.
ya, after looking over some of your work, I realize that the type and layout add way more visual indications of what you are capable of rather than a gimmicky logo. Thanks
- warheros0
yeah, are you a library? reminds me of a library logo. forget the logo for now unless youre making a million dollars a year in freelance work.
futura is nice though.

It kinda reminds me of a pantone swatch book, I would go for more of a type treatment if your gonna use it to display a body of work. But, I'm wasted so what do I know.
- scarabin0
i don't think it's very effective at all.
the only reason i can understand that it's a pantone book is because i'm a designer, and even then it looks more like a wing or something. your average viewer won't get it.
in addition the mark and its thin subtle lines won't reproduce well at smaller sizes

if you like the concept, boil off the fat and refine it
do you really need ten of those "swatches"? all you need to say that is the tips of two or three of them
i like the type better in the second one on the page, use that and the bold black box to make a more balanced logo and you're set
i would also try removing the green border around it
keep it simple
