saw them perform on "last call with carson daily"
their new stuff's pretty good.. but can't compare to 3 feet high and rising for me...
stuff now sounds rougher.. not as "fun" and more "aggressive"

ya a girl that helps put on teh show is takin me so i dont have to pay i kinda like those deals ,bt the last thing i heard was they where comin in on different flights and two of them are lost right nowLOL so i hope they show

Just got in from the show!! wow what a show great great set highly recommned them even if they dont show up:) they always show in the TDOT its like their second home.

One of the best live shows I have seen. I saw them on the Spit Tour, lotta energy...no shootings, no grudges...NO G-G-G-G-G-unit drama...just hip hop...glad you experienced it!

i dunno, i'm a big fan - more of de la soul is dead and stakes is high. Not that into their new shit, and saw them live last year and was a bit dissapointed. it was all just call and response shit all night . " when i say news, you say today, news" "TODAY" news"Today"

Ha! Gruntt, I remember that Asheville festival when they didn't show. I didn't go, but a bunch of my friends did - they were pissed! Seems like De La has some bad luck when it comes to flights... or so they say.

yeah, that was not a good night. crowd of people smashed together in the street looking at an empty stage. my wife and i left about an hour after they were supposed to arrive but also about an hour before they announced the show was canceled.

nice moto, I found out about the show around 9:30 last night, glad it was good.
I saw them in central park a couple summers ago with breakestra and kaos, probably the best show I've seen in my life!!

Yeah I think I'm the only one repping Waynesville here. There's a load of Asheville NTers though right?
Not to highjack the thread but... it's crazy to me how many people will show up for a hip hop show in Asheville (big or small, promoted or not) and yet you wouldn't know that from the local media. I didn't know about the RJD2/Lyrics Born show til the last minute. I went though and it was pretty packed. We need more of that... (and more promotion/recognition too).

you're right. when i think of music in asheville, hip hop doesn't really come to mind.
to be honest i just wanted to check out de la soul becuase it takes me way back to when i was a teenager. i can truly appreciate it i'm just not a participating member of the scene.

you will have a blast seeing them...I saw them at Sundance in 2002 at a venue that only held 250 people, it was incredible!
