Gradients on logos? Not a good idea. Keep working on the third batch.

Work on the 3rd patch. There might be something in there. But drop the 1st lot. They're ugly as hell. Reminds me of Arkanoid computer game from 15 years back.

I like the third batch.. but you need to try and do something better with the word documents.
Its too small and too letter spaced.Nice....
Get an exorcist for the first ones... ha ha

if my roommate was awake id take a picture of a shirt he has that shows similar pills/pixels coming from a similar bottle in the same direction.
it even uses a pixel font
strange deja vu going on here
- dippy0
Hmmm... cloned brings up an interesting observation. I know the logo is supposed to show a sheet of paper being shredded, right? But y'know, it does look like a bottle with pills falling out, too.

You've got something going for you in the outlined version of the O/document being shredded icon in the 3rd batch. Lose that rediculous typeface in favor of something readable and you'll have a quality logo on your hands.

i dont like the o inside the document at all the pixel font inside it is bad for this

DEFINITELY liking the "third" batch better than the first, but it's still a hideous typeface. I also agree that moving the document out of the wordmark will make it more legible. I like the idea of the document breaking apart into pixels, but maybe try tiny stripes instead of the pixels. At any rate, you'll have to keep working at it for at least a couple more batches.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of gradients either. A pain in the ass to scale correctly.
The thing I like about the third batch is that I can pull out the 'o' and use it as a stand alone logo...
Thanks for the suggestions in making them stripes instead of pixels. Also didn't realize it looked like a drug bottle.

Enter response:
3th batch
get rid of the "document" and work on the o

I prefere the 3rd batch. However the small square may get lost when the logo reduces in size. Perhaps this could work alongside the logo type as an icon

Here's an update (large PDF file at around 600KB):
http://www.protekdoc.com/logo/pr…Just work in progress running with the 3rd batch. The iteration on the bottom right makes the most sense. I ended up reflecting the paper stripes on the bottom since the strips on the left should be longer than the right.
I'm going to try working with the first batch now and see if I can make things work...
Let the critique rip! Thanks!
- version30
the stripes should be parallel to the paper
- dcdomain0
Tried the parallel strips, but I don't know if it makes sense since the cutters would be cutting vertically, not on an angle. Then again, the paper should be inputted vertically...
Same link as before.

i'd object.

Is it just the wordmark they like?
With a bit of work I think you might be able to bull that out on it's own as a solid and get rid of all the nonsence around it?
- dcdomain0
Thanks for the response guys. I've submitted many later iterations that tried to clean up the wordmark. But my god, they love the cross hatch 'force-field' thing on top of the wordmark, and the like GRADIENTS.
I've pretty much voiced my dislike of all these add-ons. I mean if it was just the wordmark, I think I could get it to work after a few more iterations. But they keep going back to all that extra fluff no matter what I do.

How do you guys convince clients to go with another design? Hehe...

I quite like the 'o' on the 3rd logo down on the 2nd link but the typeface (on both link 1 & 2) are horrible.
I'd just take your little red logo (maybe re-colour it) and start again with the type, keep it clear and simple.
