im interested in hearing how many people really think this is a viable element to your portfolio.
do people visiting your site [to check out your work] really care about your news?
how is this helpful to those looking at your work?
or is this a trend without reason?
i dunno...just curios what others think before i impliment it.

if its done well it can be a useful tool. If updated often it can be effective for getting traffic to your site. That said, if you have news and dont update it it makes you look like a slacker. So if you feel you have lots of news and can display it in a decent manner i think its a good idea.

new work, new jobs, new clients, new girlfriend. anything professional that will aid your situation. this really depends on the type of portfolio your running.

I like knowing when the site or portfolio or whatever is being updated. So maybe periodic updates.
