I really don't have a problem with drilling up Alaska, so long as proper care is taken. But part of me knows I'm paying out the ass at the pump because Bush is in bed with his BigOil chumps, and the price hike is just an excuse to rape the ANWR.

The United States and Canada have plenty of oil fields.
The key is to utilitize those of other countries and try and save our own non-renewable energy resources.

Hopefully a lower price for us, less dependence on foreign oil (and less reason to muck around foreign countries). The US economy is firmly placed on a pedastal of petrol. As goes oil, so goes the Dollar.

scientists think that there is only enough oil in ANWR to supply the US for one year.
It's not worth it. Save it as a reserve. Or if you must, use the revenues to explore using renewable energy sources.
