I would've agreed with you dutchie a few years back when it was a total browser support nighmare bodge job.
However now it's the neat, it's elegant and it's based off of the same ECMA 4 standards as AS2 so you kill two developing birds with nearly one stone. JS + DOM equals awesomeness.
