Now what kind of question is this laddie? ha ha a bit extensive no?
- tripface0
Is it a tedious process or is it something that can be nailed in an hour or two??
PS - I just sold a job for a new website and I can do everything they're asking for except these two pages, which I assume isn't that much of a process, considering every websitein the known-universe has them...
again any input regarding this would be great!

first off, it depends on what type of server side scripting language you are using and how that relates to your database.
asp to access, etc.
php to MySQL, etc.
- tripface0
asp to access is the scripting language...I just viewed source on the page and aside from having a bit of Javascripting, it also mentioned asp language.

hmmm?

if you have 0 knowledge this will take you longer the 1-2 hrs. if not google it and you will be able to find the code

Wait - you SOLD a job without knowing how to do this particular bit of crucial coding (as far as the client is concerned I am sure..)
Wow. Your profit is going to get eaten up so fast. Have fun tweaking for nothing.

that'll show you a little about asp and access, but seriously, you might be royally screwed unless you can pick up a rather steep learning curve quickly. research my friend, research.
scripting in asp, php, cfm, etc is not an hour long project.. it takes months/years/etc to be fluent (of course, this depending on what you need it to do)

Ummmm, SUBcontract? There's gotta be someone here on NT who could mkae those 2 pages happen for a price , NO?
- GeorgiePorgie0
the brutality of NT
- TheTick0
subcontracting is a GREAT idea in this case.

(Mar 16 05, 08:00)hahaha
ive done that many a time.
mind you, ive increased my skill by 10 fold. i just dont do that anymore, its too painful.
subcontract it, OR hook them up with madmerch or something
- GeorgiePorgie0
subcontracting it isnt always the solution and what if your subcontractor doesnt provide the solution?
- derek20050
then you wouldnt subcontract it to that person based on their portfolio.
- GeorgiePorgie0
portfolio has nothing to do with it
- derek20050
with making an online form to purchace shit?
the person has to have demonstrated the ability to create the product needed...

(Mar 16 05, 07:12)mybad, he needs to code an html page to retreive info from a database...
a person who knows how to do this should have examples of forms and pages they have made, to allow tripface to judge if they can do it...
