symptoms:
g4 running osx just blacked out on me. at the moment of expiration a clicking noise began to emanate from the fan area of the cpu.
attempts at using different leads and points have resulted in a single spark at the out on the cpu at the moment of contact.
each time she's plugged in again, the clicking fan noise resumes.
anyone have experience with this sort of thing in the past? is it terminal?

I dont think it's your fan, I think your hard drive just broke.

sound like harddisk.
Have you got a spear. Try it out.

whats that? like caveman repairs?

my guess in solving this: deduction. first step, checking if it's the harddrive. so i'd say take out the harddrive, slam it in another mac as a slave (you might need to change the switches) and see if it shows up and check if it's ok.

Life's ok. Got that Court crap done with, still too busy though.
Hope you're still up for Friday!
