anyone know if there is a legal limit on an annual rent increase in the UK? Am only planning on staying at our flat in the short term but our landlady wants more cash.
I'm pretty sure they can't increase more than 5% but I can't find any info on it?
Any ideas?

Oops, sorry, not so relevant, just got a bit trigger happy on google. try again, i remember reading something about there being a certain period before the rent can be increased because of the contract agreement.

I remember hearing something about a rent appeal system that you can go to if you feel you are paying too much - I have no idea who you should approach though.
On a similar note, anyone needing a nice big double room in a very nice flat from about the end of April?
