Which do you think is the better approach to take to interviews for web design jobs (in design agencies).
- Nice portfolio with printed screenshots of your work
- Laptop with actual work to see (and animations, etc. to see in all their motion glory)Laptop make you look too nerdy/IT focused? Printed portfolio make you look like you're more "into design and creative"?

both depending on time
its better to have options

Laptop presentation. A CD leave-behind in nice packaging.

Have both, if going to an agency pull out the book and ask them if they want you to pull out the 2x4.
Having the laptop only can create some confusion since you would have to start it up/look up the wireless/ bla bla bla, point being, it could waste time...

Webdesign - show on laptop in browser.
DTP - bring actual printed material.Tell it like it is.

Well, I dont know about you guys, but my powerbook is always on, so I dont think starting it up as a potential problem at all..
Hook up to the wireless???
If you have a laptop you might as well take your work with or you are missing the point, what if the meeting takes place somewhere where there is no internet at all??I think Motion should be seen on screen, never on paper..
On the other hand, for Print work its best to show the actual work, but in case that you also include signage or booth design, etc and you can't bring it with you, you could either take NICE photos and print them out on a nice folder.

Nothing more embarrassing than showing up with a laptop and having something go wrone, or sit their while waiting for a file to load. Always have the hard copies just in case.

I've been using my PB to present my folio, tho I am a full nerd, but getting lots of positive feedback.
Mick did you get my email a few weeks back?

both - esp ifits like more than 2 people - its hard fr everyoen to see the screen

bring the powerbook for interactive work but don't expect a wireless connection, most companies are too concerned with security to let you have access. just have all your projects served up locally.
also bring physical samples or a book of you print work.
