can anyone recommand a place online where i can order a sketchbook with white paper and the cover is all black no text etc on it. Preferably if the cover wasnt hardcover and it had alot of blank pages. Also if there is a place where i can get a custom sketch book with the amont of paper i want or something that be cool to...

i dunno know about the one with a set amount of pages... but the black cover one can be found at any art store... well at least in any art store where i live.
seems kinda weird to order some thing like online considering shipping and what not.

i have always seen both. i prefer the hardcovers though because they last longer, especially if you are going to carry it around with you. but there is tons of different styles in soft cover too

what about a moleskin? like a big one. they're soft, durable. I bought one for my roommate, a little one. he's a tiny guy and he has it in his back pocket at all times. bore a hole through his jeans, rectangle shaped. but he's got it at all times. which is what a good sketchbook should do. but they do have big ones.

I used to make my sketch books back when i was at college.
Buy a couple of big bits of paper fold to the desired size, staple it, or sew it (Dental floss is good, real strong) on the fold. then trim it to get a nice edge. Takes about 20 mins but if you make loads at once it is worth it.

You can usually find hardcover blackbooks at bookstores. I know Barnes and Noble carry them so hmmm... let me check their online store...

moleskine art notebooks are good.
it's some sort of half-flexible hardcover, not the original 100% skin thing, thank god, but they're really good. i've only tried tried oil paint on them, but oh, they hold on without blurring. really nice standart hard surface paper.
€14 p/ 50pp 12x20cm notebook where i come from.
