I have the Mbox, with protools LE and Reason. Still learning Reason, do I need a midi controller to use the synth rack in reason?

I LOVE MY MICROKORG
http://www.korg.com/gear/info.as…just had a look at the karma. looks sweet mate.
the way i do stuff is like a mixmash of hardware and software. my hardware isnt midi-synched to comp or to each other. i take it all into comp as wav files per channel as i hate the "perfection" of midi controlled sounds.
so in effect im just using cubase as a cassete 4 track - but with better sound and loads of lovely filters/fxreally really cant get enough of the microKorg though.
for sounds like strings, piano etc i use my 303 groovebox

yeah, i would love a unit with real great string sounds.

I have a Triton, I really should use it more but I love it.

Tritons are great machines, If I had that much to drop on it , I would.

you can prolly get a kurzweil k2000 cheap now

check out this lil baby.
its not from the 60s though - its from the 70s. seller has got it wrong. not worth more than about £35 but worth having. AIR have used one a few times in their songs.its worth buying just for the retro-cool factor :)

fack. drool...

you cant program the drums on it, its just 7 or 8 pre-programmed beats. and the tempo isnt per bpm, its a dial Slow>Fast. there is a dial for volume and a dial to control the sounds of the Snare and the Cymbal and thats it.
still nice bit of kit to have. probably do some nice things with it through fx units or guitar pedals.
mmmmmmm.... might bid laters
- magicpatch0
get a used nord lead 2 for that much, all you ever need

rather download their old patches and play them via a MIDI keyboard

Midi vs. key
Personally , I like have the insrument in front of me. No hassle dealing with midi stuff. Plug and play. But then the midi side has soooo many optoins too. DAMMIT
- GeorgiePorgie0
MIDI just triggers stuff. same story my son
- GeorgiePorgie0
the key is sampling and compression

Picked it up this weekend and I am very impressed. It's pretty much the Tritons little twin. It might take some time to really learn, the manuals are insane.
