This is a really, really big deal for Hong Kong, and democracy for that matter...

This is going to have strong ramifications and the rumour mill is still going strong...but regardless it can only be a good thing.
Donald Tsang is most likely to succeed him:

Tung was a Beijing puppet and hopefully this will pave the way to more HK autonomy.

The only bad thing about Tsang (from the mainland perspective), and the only reason Beijing might reject him as a permanent replacement, is that he is very popular with the hong kong people and very outspoken in his support for greater autonomy...

if things don't got Donald's way..i'm sure he'll wait till America swoops in to "spread freedom to the chinese" and end the "evil communism". The Day when people from the mainland and HK will "welcome U.S Troops with open arms" and Chow Mein.
