You know - in rethinking this I might just have to say Flavor Flav. I mean - c'mon - how many points does the Big Clock bring wit' it?
How many times have you said "Yeeeaaah Booyyeee...!" As a child of the 80's I'd have to say 3 zillion.
(And Flav is more of an MC than a rappper..but..well..nevermind.)

He's neither, Flav is a "Hype Man".

wesley willis was the greatest rapper

he was good - but the only reason he is labeled great is because he's dead.

blackspade, it can't be stressed enough. seriously. the counter marketing has to be as active and as viable to keep it all checked and in balance. it shouldn't be monopolized by just 1 person if you know what i mean.
i was just thinking about an analogy of soul hiphop and my first thought was "blues metal". so who wants to be the king or queen of blues metal?

rabattski- "the clown prince" of blues metal
- rabattski0
sorry cloned, much appreciated :) but i'm already the king of hardcore schlager. so who's the real prince of blues metal? fuck prince, we need a king or queen. and it can only be one since we have to stick to diddy's concept of the category of 1.

I agree with previous statements - biggie was nice. I just discovered a lot of old hiphop - I grew u p in a box, see, and missed out on a lotta shit. In the last month I have heard for the first time:
EPMD - Business as Ussual & Unfinished Business
Big Daddy Kane - Taste of Chocolate & Prince of Darkness
Gangstarr - 'Can't remember the name, has 'Step in the Arena' as 1st track
Biz Markie - The best of Cold Chillin
Masta Ace - Take a look around & Sittin on Chrome.I am loving all this stuff, if anyone can reccomend more stuff to listen to I'd love it.
RIP biggie

mwaaaahahahahahahaaa!!! it excists!!!! :) no fucking way dude. cheers for that link though. and i always thought that led zeppelin was rock 'n roll yet i've been wrong all my life, it's blues metal. cool though, in the whole zep era there was no such thing as metal yet they were a blues metal band. that's amazing.
anyways, now i have to come up with a new category.

how about "blues-hop"
- rabattski0
too close to soul hiphop i would say. you know, soul hiphop doesn't make sense because it implicates that there's no soul in just hiphop and due to the vast amount of soul hiphoppers (currently just 1) you need a different category for it. which ofcourse is utter bullshit. so i'm looking something along that same line.

electro jazz?
- rabattski0
hmmm.... electro jazz suggests that there's no electro in jazz which to a certain extent is true. ofcourse there are exceptions.
more in terms like "rock country" or "melodic pop".
