16bits ARGB PNG file???

Hello there,
I'm actualy looking after a plugin or standalone application that can convert or directly save an ARGB 16 bits PNG file...
(ARGB goes to Alpha+RGB)

Photoshop > PNG
isn't that 24bits ARGB?

photoshop isn't 16bit friendly,
and in fact it doesn't generate 16 bits exept for BMP...

so a PNG-24 saved with photoshop is an 8bit file.
just curious, but why would you need a 16bits PNG?

Your right 8 or 24 bits nothing more...
Well i'm going to use a private Java dev platform dedicated to DIGITAL tv that use a Alpha+RGB 16 bits PNG file...
