Anyone try amplifying their wi-fi signal by any method possible? Curiosu to know th results... I am moving to a house where I will be a considerable distance away from my router.

You can buy amplifiers($300) that will get you about 1-2 miles unobstructed.

why not just buy a repeater? they is cheap.

there are antennas amplifying the signal about 6-8 dbm . theyre at 30-40 euros somewhat

ok.. I dont exactly need 1-2 miles (more like 100 yards, some obstruction) and was thinking of making my own.. I have heard thats possible.

i hooked mine up to a hampster wheel. when the little guy gets going i can get like 6 miles.

ok.. maybe not hacking one... whats the deal with repeaters.. I need to cover my house, 2000 square feet plus a 2000 square foot lawn...
