i cant find a thread on this..
im looking to buy a 35mm autofocus camera. im no a pro but want one that delivers goodness in general.
suggestions?

my fav 35mm ever is the leica minilux. quality of light is FANTASTIC and you can handheld night shots with 400 speed film.

If you want a great point and shoot get an olympus stylus, if you want an SLR I'd go with Nikon or Leica
- BONE0
why not an EOS?
- usrper0
minilux huh... interesting. how much did you buy it for?
o yea and the old arguement which im not so familiar with : canon or nikon?
- bolus0
buy a second hand nikon, canon or leica..... saves a lot of money, and you get a better camera
i like nikon, but i can't explan why...

i realise it's well below the camera's you're talking about but i used to have an old faithful Pentax P30 which was amazing. i'm not sure which model has since replaced this but it was great.

bolus did you shoot yours with a nikon

i found this place for second hands.. anyone tried?
- ivan_cook0
i paid about $700 for the minilux new.
You can find them in great shape on ebay for much less now.
If you're thinkg about an SLR, i really like the nikon n90. it's an older mid-range camera, but an excellent value.

I love my Bolex super 8. And so do the ladies.
If you're in melbourne, head to Chapel St Bazaar - HUUUUUUGE range of second hand cameras. The guy's even got more at home. And he uses them.
I also love my canon S50. I watched with dung in my pants as it was run over by a cab - when I found to my amazement that it's bent body still worked, I was mainly relieved that my girlfriend wasn't going to get angry with me. So, go Canon.

im looking at this. there seems to be some scratches on the corner of the lens? or is that how it is? you think its a good buy?
- ivan_cook0
i don't see any scratches. looks like a great camera. i have the silver one, but the black looks great! If you want a great 35mm point and shoot for night photos; this is the one in my opinion. nothing comes close to leica's optics.

i acutally dont realyl need a point and shoot. so this is VERY impulsive.
you have to convince me more
:)

i already have one ( and i love it ), but if i didn't, i would seriously consider waiting until a good small digital comes out.

What are you going to be using it for? Are you wanting to use film or digital media? Develop your own or have a lab do it?
And more importantly - what is your budet?
- derek20050
i think that more importantly - what is your BUDGET?
- jevad0
