Illustrator10/PC issue

This is really weird:
Character Window in Illustrator10 disappeared and i have no clue where :)When i go Window-/Type, there's a checkbox against Character, but the dialog itself is not showing.
Ive tried to reinstall Illustrator , cleaned the registry and reinstalled again, but nothing works. And it's a legal copy.
Does anyone know what it may be?? Im thinking of reinstalling the whole XP... :(
Don't tell me to switch to Mac, please.

this may sound dumb put the character window dock shares itself with other functions
go through all the tabs maybe
i use cs so no actual solution for you sorry :/

try alt + spacebar and the select move..

eff had a theory i was thinking of too another way to put everything back in the viewable area would be to set your resolution to the smalllest setting like 800x600 or so then go back to your largest setting and everthing should be in a nice little area for you
of course youll have to reaarange then
