mac flash player

we could really use some advice here at work. our new site we've been working so hard on plays about 1/3 slower on Mac machines than on Windows. what is really confusing is that the "intro" type part of the site (it's not really an intro) plays very slow too, and it's just a simple logo and text. There's nothing that should make it go slow. Let me point out that there is NOTHING on the timeline at the same time the logo is fading. I've used flash for years and there's no reason the Flash Player should have a hard time at this point on the timeline. If anybody has some tips or techniques we could try we'd really be thankful. Things we've already tried are... trying different frame rates, removing everything besides the little logo tween and seeing if it still plays slow (it did), messing with the HTML parmams and settings for the flash movie... and some other random things. HELP!!!

just so you guys know, we figured it out. man that was scary.
there was code in the HTML page making the flash movie transparent. i thought i removed it during testing but there's 2 instances of the transparent tag. apparently, mac browsers take a crap when the flash movie is transparent. so take a note of that and save future complications :)

Flash an alpha transparency of any sort has a little while left to go. Alpha fades, too, can be real entertaining if not done with caution.
So can PNGs.

abstrakt, I was going to suggest exactly that. I made a bit of javascript to serve transparency for flash to IE browsers (which improve perforfmance) and turns it off for all other browsers.

It's pretty damn easy to customize, just find the function that has the movie name, size, transparency.
