question:
say an artist/designer creates commisioned work for a couple magazines. The printed works wont be published for a couple months. Is it wrong to post the work on your site before its published? Or a small preview of it?
thanks.

very much depends on the content. If you have signedan NDA, or whether they have specifically asked you not to publish it. Otherwise I say they have very little right. If they haven't pai for it, and you have no contract then legally they have no rights to the work until such time as the invoice is settled.

its alwys work, published or unplublished, you were assigned to work for a company/publication so its wise to put on the folio, unless you plan to use it for something else

yeah.. also unless on the contract there are restrictoions about personal use but I dunno that

no contract about personal use or NDA. I just dont want to piss anybody off by posting it on my site before it goes to print....
thanks,
any other opinions?

they said it was cool as long as i dint show everything... so I'm adding a small preview of the first and last page out of the 11 I did for them.
