does anyone else have trouble getting images to print as they should on an epson 1290, it prints really dark and saturated but fine from vector... Even from pdf which looks perfect on screen...
??
this is getting very frustrating not to mention wasting ink/paper grrrr

I had a 1290 for a while (borrowed) and had the same results as you. When you send stuff to your inkjet is the document RGB or CMYK. I have an a4 epson r200 and always convert my files from cmyk to RGB before printing. The difference is amazing

i have an epson photo 1280 and was having problems with it. surprisingly, after i emailed their tech support, I got a response (within a couple of hours)from Epson's tech support that was able to solve the problem.

i've been using my 1290 for three years and really no complaints, except when i used other than epson inks. They dont like cheap inks.
I did a whole slew of A3 stuff during my degree years. Both CYMK and RGB seemed to work ok

one thing that helps a little is remembering to shut it off.
the ink wells dry out and screw up the print otherwise.

yeah the RGB is much better thanks Ell, I shoulda tried that first really, still not perfect but its acceptable :)
