I just got a pair of burton sabbaths (comfy soft freestyle boot) and a pair of C60 (stiff carbon bindings) for hopefully good board feel and quick response on a Custom for solid turns in the trees and a little float off headwalls...
The guy who sold them to me acted like I was crazy, you should be using stiff boots w/stiff bindings or soft boots w/soft bindings...etc...
I bought them anyway. Now I'm wondering whether or not anyone else rocks a similar type of setup or if its just wack and I should return the Sabbaths for a stiffer boot.
I know this isn't a site crit or whatever but if Nic can post about his P1's.... ;)
thanks for any related experience...

i personally rock a stiff boot, stiff binding and board.
i think it all depends on the type of riding you're into... if you're down with the park all day then go soft. but if you're into going big lines, pow and dropping shit like cornices or cliffs i would go for a stiff set up all around including your board... last thing you want is some noodle board getting nasty on you at mach speeds.

yeah, I'm not as worried about board chatter just the boot/binding interface. A solid board works its way through any crud and is super for corduroy lines. A super stiff setup all around is what I was riding previously.
I figure the new setup should be fine as long as the bindings offer a solid connection and are reactive, the boot stiffness proly doesn't matter that much...and what the hell its fun either way...Its just easy to become obsessive about your setup...

neither set up will do you any good if you are never gonna use them allegra!!
tee hee
come riding this weekend and test it out but I'd tend to agree with the dude in the shop - where'd you go?

don't worry march is my month fella. They will get use. I guarantee I'll have a suntan soon... :)
Boulder Ski Deals...
I just figure I'll try it out, I can't imagine it being the most horrific setup ever (that would be my sorels and a burton air 6 with the weird hinged bindings from 91), and I'm one of those color outside of the lines sort of people anyway Nic :) But maybe that's just a defensive posture.
Not sure if I'll make it to Vail, proly loveland though they've got solid coverage now and its been looking purty up on the divide.

BSD is a good place and thise c60's are just sick...i don't think you'll be complaining at all...

I like soft boots/bindings....but dont take my advice..I cut the high backs of my drakes down a inch. Try it, if ya like it, keep it.

I'm thinking about going both days, but I doubt if you will get bored with Vail
