I'm looking to embroider a custom design on a baseball hat. Has anyone tried this? I'm looking to get this done in NYC, so local places would be ideal, but I'd consider shipping away for it. Obviously stuff like this is generally reserved for a lot of hats, but I only want to do a few. What can I expect to pay?
Any info, links, etc is appreciated. Thanks.

I used to do one off hats for myself and since you are in NYC you will most likely find somewhere to do this for you. I tryed many places until I found a nice vietnamese lady that made patches and custon embroidery. All I had to provide was a print out of any image and she would do it from the paper. It would only cost me 15 dollars for as many colors as I wanted. One christmas I made a dozen or so beanies with one of my designs and gave them out as gifts.
Thank you for reminding me, I am going to see if she is still in business.

my friend ended up using Lids.

I looked up Lids, it's $85 dollars alone for the setup, unless I order lots of hats...which I'm not.
danthon-If you can get me any info about this lady or where to find someone who can do it cheap, please e-mail me. Also, how was the quality?
Thanks.

sorry, my advice was to look for someone that does it low (no) tech. That is the only way you can get it done in small quantities and there is no set-up fee. The quality was excellent. I doubt the woman I found has an email let alone a computer. Hit the yellow pages. NY should definatly have people that still do it old school.

go to a mall, they'll do it cheap if you only want a few hats and not pay a setup.
