ok the deal is.
i'm doing a 5 minute movie about the history of a brand.
am i unreasonable if ask for the commetary and soundtrack first(its going to be narrated) before i animate..for godsake the script keeps also changing by the day(i'm doing the rough lines now)now i hear its gpoing to 8 minutes.thats ages for animating.and the deadline is the first of april(i kid you not)
problem is thay don't take me serious,i just graduated a half a year ago..but what i am doing now is basically a job of senior motion designer i gues.i draw the story board;i make the graphics i animate and do the art direction.
am i unreasonable if i ask the company where i work for that this is a bit crazy?
sorry for the typos.

doesn't sound unreasonable to me.
sounds like necessary materials.
have you asked?

it should be done at the same time as you are animating so that you can change things easily if they do not do this they are stupid and you MUST make it clear that it will take longer to change if they keep dicking around.
Ideal situation the v/o and the soundtrack are tinkered with in sound company as you are tinkering with the animation therefore things are all happening at the same time otherwise april the first will be delivered with a bad program.

can you do all that and juggle at the same time?
- rasko40
you're going to hand them a finished project and deadline day and they'll be all like "APRIL FOOL!! HAHAHAHA"

idd.
i did my internship at a expierenced production company.clear rules.first voice over and soundtrack, than animating.
no more major changes in the script.
that was the important rule.

you should expect to do all the work. If someone else scans stuff and digitises things then you will not always get what you asked for. They also will name clips differently to how you would. If you have like four hours of stock and this has been labeled by not you then it will be a mine field.
- gruntt0
tell them to give you what you need or else 10 frames of the movie will be your penis.

Listen to Chossy there, he knows his stuff.
I got landed in a similar shite-bath a couple of years ago (having NEVER done any motion work) and it was hellish; sounds very like the chat your getting, so speak up profusely, at least they can't say you never said anything if it drags on...

This happens all the time tuig. If you have the luxury of all the sound being approved before hand and finished this is great but rarely does this happen. Remember people always change there minds. C4nts
