i have a small bright green pen dot sized dead/stuck pixel on my new sony lcd monitor, right in the middle. any fixes for that?

live with it or buy a new monitor...
really, that's the only thing you can do if your past warranty...

you could try massaging the pixel gently with your finger for about 20 seconds
seriously - this is a recommended solution on many tech manuals!

I have a red pixel like that on my iMac at home. True enough, I can rub the screen and it does disappear. Oddly, Apple will not take returns on anything that has less than 3 dead pixels. Not sure about Sony.

seems like it might work, I know absolutely nothing about how lcd monitors work, but...

a pixel on a lcd is a tiny little lightbulb, and if it blows you are screwed, unless you are really handy with you fingers ;)

i don't know nothing about rubbing a LCD screen, but I know about rubbing something else.

pixels need love, too.

I had two on my Powerbook g4, somehow they are all gone after 3 years of use

lol @ taragee
I know what you mean. FYI, it didn't take a 20 minute 'massage' to show the pixel enough love. I can just touch the screen and fix it. Magic fingers maybe?

im not falling for that trick....

Too funny!
This article explains a bit about how they work and why dead pixels are usually R, G or B.
