Has anyone ever bought OEM software off of the net? I see it all the time on the net and I'm wondering if it's a scam.

the prices look like educational pricing, which isn't legal to use for production... whatever it is, its definatly shady

I found it while (OEM sites) while I was doing a Froogle search. There's a lot of them it seems.

most of those sites are a) illegal copies, b) educational sold as full or c) they send you a 'burned' copy of a disc they have.
oem means it comes with hardware...you can't very well buy/sell oem if you don't buy/sell hardware.
like an oem copy of windows xp is purchased at a slightly reduced price when you buy a new harddrive.
so, instead of $299 for xp and $80 for the drive, you spend $80 on the drive and get xp for ~$249.
that is oem distribution.
with all of ms's latest anti-piracy adaptations to xp, it is likely any copy you buy from a site like that will not install or update.
