What has changed?! I saw Build's poster in the PBS is it worse than the G.I/Grafik re-design?
- creview0
i just want to correct a couple of misunderstandings. the £7 cover price applies tothis special issue only and the Annual issue in March, all other issues of CR will continue to cost £5.50. All stores should have a mixture of CR25 posters - if you have trouble findig the one you want, email me.
thanks

CR lurkers!!

Ouch, so I just subsidised your creative spunking of expensive cover material to the tune of an extra £2? And I get a free monochrome poster!
Thanks!
(note to self - must start checking receipts)

Instead of getting 'top' designers to do posters, pull outs etc. etc, I reckon they should get them to re-design all the bad ads for stock librarys and illustrators that take up all the back section. Anyone ever used 'nige' the Sun cartoonist?

Or bought a Mikki Mouse mat!!

Balls, I bet my names black-listed now! That'll be why i'm STILL waiting for my march issue to come through the post.
Liked what madethought did with grafiks, but now its been passed onto MD feels like it's lacking a little quality.

I think Grafik has lost it's clarity, full bleed images with image boxes layed over the top, lubalin graph for body copy doesn't really make for long reading, Graphics International was sober and fairly straightforward letting the work/articles speak for themsleves Grafik is visually a lot more active and image and text fight, I still buy it though?!
- madeGB0
Yeh, felt like that when it first changed, but quite full on with the layering and all. Eye magazine's very good, for nice typo and layout - very classical.

has anyone got theirs in the post yet?

Grafik is always worth a flick first of all to see if it's worth the cash. I brought the end of year one recently and was impressed, the next issue was so so. I used to enjoy Graphics International a lot more, but it was never as 'esssential' as Creative Review.
Can't miss an issue of that......I do love the smell of Grafik though.
Does that make me odd?
- uncle_helv0
Yeah it does have a particular odour.

I've always found Creative Review does a lot to showcase new talent and doesn't always use 'top' designers for pullouts covers etc. £7 does seem a bit steep but most magazines charge extra for special editions

soda, you haven't got yours through the post yet? me neither.
If you think you're a bit strange have you met paul from GFSmith? nice chap, but reminds me of that jill woman who used to wine taste on tv.

I take your point ell, they do showcase new talent but I was making a general point about CR that it seems ironic that a large section of the magazine is taken up with badly designed ads, it's also a bit cliquey I reckon. I preferred Graphics International...
- spaniard0
and no offence to nige the cartoonist...

I really like Grafik, I think the new issue is really nice, so much nice work in it. I haven't seen the new Creative Review yet, I am up in Newcastle, so I guess it takes a while to get up North...

March Grafik is brilliant, nice consultancy profile 'saturday' and the process report has some nice work in it.

Grafik is the only mag I've ever subscribed to and I've already had to cancel it once cause the Befnal Green postie kept folding it in half to stuff it through me postbox (Harsh!). I've moved since. :)
CR does seem a little lite on, very 'blokes with computers' too. Wider scope would be nice. (Is Mark Sinclair the same guy who worked on Zoo ages ago?)
