Liquid State was set up to progress and push new Uk talent forward on a
professional platform.
it is also involved in various school/
council projects, keeping an eye on developing younger artists.
Liquid state promotes artists on all levels ranging from weekly/ monthly
club nights at various venues around London to getting involved with major
festivals and shows.I wanted to keep the logo simple, strong, and to work well at small scale.
But would like veiws and feed back to try and improve on what i've got :)

try again, i think....

looks wrong with that straight text and the squ... no mostly all wrong. Try something else.

Not really feelin' it.
I don't know exactly what to tell you about why I don't like it, but it feels too heavy, and even prehistoric. I don't think it is ideal for the market you are trying to hit.

I think you need to think about the application of this logo, and the words you are using. It looks as if the selection tool made your letters and then you stuck some straight text over it.
keep on trucking.

well it was hand drawn in the end. Every i did seemed to be ove r worked so I kept it simple and hand made looking.
what do you think of the L&S I know its prob hard to see but was trying to get a metaphor of something on a stage
- brains0
looks alot more like US.
just keep trying alot of different things.
you'll probably spend more time trying to fix this then it will take to start a new one.
just keep trying.

all i saw was the "S" the "L" wasnt that clear. i dunno what your market will be but, i think its way to blocky to be somthing of liquid state.
- nasa0
maby try a script solution?

the type of music they promote varies but they have a lot of R&B and rock and some funk. I would like to promote an urban, youthful/vibrant feel. as they work only in london

How does this represent a professional platform on a diverse level? I looks too punkish/rebelish/street artish. I don't see it working on a diverse platform of much. Try to simplify it more. How bout one with the 'L' connected to the 'S' on the bottom like 'LS'
Your logo does not look simplified enough to me. Also, try a version that isn't over bold.
- swollenelbow0
yeah, we are trying to convince you to go another route, it's really true...
- System-Idle0
yes I tried the LS thing but thought it was too obvious.
I like the idea of trying to do something with "professional platform on a diverse level" but couldnt think of anything simple
or should I go with the name 'Liquid State' and work with something around that?
thanks for the feed back - any more sugg

well it's good you tried that stuff. now you know it doesn't work. so come up with new concept. try 50 different concepts, to get all the ideas out of your system.
now once you do that, being with a better typeface. come up with a list of 10 words that describe this company or organization or whatever, then pick a typeface for each word. now dont go download any cheesy fonts. go find some professional ones. then pick 2 typefaces out of the 10 that work the best and combine them and play with the typography. once you do that, you'll then be able to decide if you need an icon or graphic with it, but the best designs are those that can make illustrations (or an iconic statement) out of type......

thanks Jason, that is very helpful indeed!
I havent done ID's properly for ages, and as you can see am very rusty. thanks for giving my brain a kick start again

all i have to say is, the name "liquid state" says to me, liquid. state.
science.
make the logo somehow look liquidy or have some kind of liquid quality. then youll have a great visual. maybe like liquid drops dropped on a surface to make a L and an S? iunno.
new direxion though.
