Site Design Estimate

So here is the deal. I have a website design project that I am thinking of taking on, but I need some info and advice.
All I know right now is that it is a 5 page site, and I would be responsible for the design and HTML production, all front end. I have not given him an estimate yet, but I was thinking it would take about 100 hours to complete, and I was going to charge 50/hr. So basically, 5 g's.
Does this sound high, or fair? Also, I was going to sructure the contract so that I got half up front, and half upon completion. However, I would set it up so that the initial fee was an estimate of hours, and then upon final completion, I would adjust the final payment according to amount of hours I actually worked.
Am I making sense? And am I doing this the right way?
