is there any way to recover a file that was open when illy crashes?

isn't there a preference you can set to have it automatically save every 5 minutes or something?

yep there is. you need to open it in word (as all files are simply text files with info specifying apps and shite). check this tech note to start with:

i did the first one a while ago and saved the other designer here a days work (the poor bastido was close to reaching for the razorblades hahaha.)

cs might have backed up a temp file somewhere, i know indesign does it.

ahhhh okay, well i could just open the file and it'd do the same thing.
i was thinking it'd be like autocad or something. ah well.
