1976 the one mevsthem posted. i am not sure how much they differ though, as the 1981 is a reprint.
i am not wanting it for the value, it's just a beautiful book.

No Janne, no worries, you don't get me involved in anything, but I just meant, that I am not gonna bid endlessly like the thing that is going on right now. I bet the price will rise over the 150 bucks.
Mevsthem already pointed me out with a bidding for 1976. That's ok, but I know this is not gonna end for a reasonable price. Since I am buying the book only for the book, not for the emotional issue involved.
6 days to go until deadline, I will try, but Ebay never worked for me actually. But we'll see. Maybe I can do some citytrips to London or Berlin to visit those antique tiny bookstores... Browsing through dusty shelves ;)

janne I am with you... I only want the book (at this moment) for the content. So a year doesn't matter to me.

I already purchased the book today not on eBay for 40$, but a person by the name SP Moore e-mailed me about his item on eBay. I have the exact same copy coming to me by mail :D should be here this week, his item is postem by me on PBS.

janne or rasko? is there any chance that you can help me with those photo's you did of this book? just to experience a small feel of the content again? Just saw you supplied it to Rasko, but I am not sure if it's already done with the ftp.

the only thing I hate (sometimes) about ebay is bidding... since the bookstores have one flat-rate price.

shit, i got some emails from other NT'ers i'd like to keep anonymous now. so i started bidding on that one as well. i did not know you were bidding as well, reaction!
i don't feel like outbidding you.. i am patient as well.
however if you cancel your bidding or don't want to bid on it anymore let me know. cuz then i just may put some more fuel on the fire. >:)

btw. how many reprints have there been of this one??
i have seen the following publishing dates for part 1 on the internets:
1974
1976
1981
1983
and even
1988!!wtf??

i also have to say ebay is the worst place to buy a rare item like this. there's always some predators bidding at the last moment..
i have too little experience with ebay.. :/
i think i will have to look at the obsucre bookstores for my copy though..

No Janne, go ahead. I wasn't biddig, just browsing... I hope you will make it with the auction. I am too lazy to bid again, failed too much times with Ebay. So try your luck, and fuel up that fire ;)

Janne, I even noticed those predators are sometimes the Sellers themselves under another account to get the bidding price up. As from all the times I have been bidding on ebay in my whole life, I only got a winning bidding once. And that wasn't a bidding, but a "DIRECT BUY" thing. :( So.. I guess we're stuck with the ancient dusty shelves again ;)

yes, NL it is... thanks Janne, that is very kind of you. I know about the data-rates etc. It sucks here. Aren't you on MT or any other big hosting company for your Vormburo site?
Anyway, no rush for me. I know what's in there. But all of a sudden everybody is interested in this Graphis book, because of all this public attention.
Hopefully this doesn't influence our antique book ressources ;)

janne, i believe that nothing changed in the content, but the way of binding and offset printing makes the difference. Heard the 1988 edition was really lame quality of inks and paper compared to the previous ones.

i heard that too once, reaction wasn't sure anymore if that was the 1988 edition though.
btw. there's many designers after this book since the first print. it was sold out immediatly when it was printed first..
well that's all i will say about it for now haha.. ;)
