Any tips on how to style clothes for product shoots showing only the product, as shown on various clothes' sites??
For example:

washed with heavy starch
lots o lightiing all around to show depth

That makes sense for that particular shirt, but what about other stuff thats not made of cotton ??

stick with the lighting
99% of all photos are ruined by lighting
i used to do photography of promotional products mugs balls hats pens posters etc.
the key to great pictures is lighting
have time set up take practice photos and keep track of what you like
at the end of the day though

Lighting is the key... i know!
but what about styling the product itself? in this case apparel...
My concern is even if the lighting is perfect, a sweatshirt or T with folds and a little body would look better than a flat one ... wouldnt it??
Now there r some materials other than cotton that dont work that well with starch... How do they style garments made with those fabrics??

we did a shot last week and had a prop stylist with a steamer, shot from above and just modeled the clothing on the surface. and plenty of strobes
