I'm a photographer/graphic designer and I'm on my way to purchasing a G5...I'm going to get 2 monitors but i'm not sure whether to get dual 20'' apple displays or get one 20'' apple and another brand for a better deal or not get any apple displays at all or what? Any suggestions as to what type of monitors i should get?

i thought CRT's still display truer colour?... i'm doing film and video at school and we were told this,
and based on the flat displays i've used the colours were too blown out and oversaturated.. i still use a CRT

Might i suggest either 2 * Dell 2005wfp or one 2405wfp check em out they aint pretty but the spec to price ratio is superb. And before I get my head bit off by the mac monkeys I love mac my mate recently met mr Ives as he flew over in Jobs jet to talk to him and his collegues so i like macs!! The dell 2005wfp is the same panel as the 20" cinema but half the price also mine is arriving tommorow so i will let you know what its like.

check out LaCie as well... 20" and their 'pro' 21.3" that is meant to be very color accurate

you could buy an old cinema and project it while working from any seat in the house. maybe get a part time employee to shuffle around selling ice creams and telling you to get yer damn feet off the seat in front.

You should never have two different monitors, not good for ur eyes. Ask any stock trader!

what about Viewsonic? Heard they are pretty good... but I'm still getting my mac 20" though.. just becoz it looks good.

go for the dual 20s

I have ViewSonic LCD's at work and they are poor compared to my 20 Cinema at home. They look nicer on my desk than they actually perform.

Stick with dual 20"'s the 23"s you can't really tell a size difference for 800 dollars more. I love the 20" from Mac.

as an apple employee i say go 20 inch. if you have the funds do two. But keep them the same brand so two apples or two whatevers, it will mess with your eyes in the long run. I have read good things about formac displays as well. might want to check those out. If you are near and apple store check the "refreshed table" displays get marked down on return so you could pick up another at a good deal. just my .02
