I'm having a small problem downloading files through Flash and looking for some NT help. I have some MP3 mixes online and I want users to download them to their destination of choice. The problem I'm having is when you click on the files, they stream the MP3 files through your browser and play them there...you can "save as" once they have downloaded. But I'd like the option of "save as" when they are clicked from my site. I'm using a simple Get URL in Flash, but there's got to be a better option I am overlooking. Thanks in advance.
Here's the example link:

you may have to zip em...

Zipping them would be my 2nd option. Thanks.

With all the smart MFs on NT, nobody has a solution? I'm making myself crazy here...

if it is a link outside of your flash piece, then the browser will search through its helper apps or preferences to deal with whatever media. to download, it will prob have to be zipped.

there's a coldfusion code that forces to download...
i don't know if that'll work in flash, maybe try callign that with actionscript or something.

call a php page with a "force download" script in it
something like
http://www.elouai.com/force-down…
or something

There is forcedownload code written for nearly any language. If your flash is running on a server with php/asp/jps/.net you can get that code. It opens a binary stream and sends it to the browser setting the content type giving you the choice to save or open.
