That's a pretty iconic image, i wouldn't say it's a rip, any number of influences from Reservoir Dogs to well, any number of films.
More to the point - They've made Sin City the movie?!
I wonder how they've transferred Frank Millers stark artwork to the big screen

Peak at the trailer CrackHouse. And around the site. You'll notice the characters wearing prosthetics to more closley resemble the comic art of their characters. You'll also notice the forced perspective camera angles and pans that the panels in the novel have a lot. The movie is in b&w with color splashes to emphesize certain scenes. I think this movie is getting as literal about translation from comic to screen as a movie can get.

Yeah i'd expect that. These things rely on a core of loyal fans to accept it and then spread the word.
Me being a fan of Sin City and Sandman comics and all Millers work am a fan. Can't wait.

Actually dopepope the director is making the movie frame for frame that of the comic. Read it in a magazine on the pot the other day.
They had a few shots from the comic next to the same shot in the film, exact.

that movie is going to be one of the best of the year.... hopefully! i can't wait to see it

will it work though? why not just read the comic? what will FMV bring that a static page can't? esp if it's fame for frame...
questions questions
i remain, as always, skeptical

It's something different to look forward to at least. With a cast that grand, it could either be the most artistic, conceptual, involved piece of garbage ever, or just one hell of a fun movie.
