what should my portfolio consist of when i apply as a transfer student into an art school to get the most money out of them

UMBC to either MCAD, MICA or CCA+D

definately include a lot of sketches, and pre work. art schools love to see your process, even more so than your finished product. the more charcoal drawings and things like that you include the better. good luck!

oh yeah i went to mica beofre but only for a semester had to leave due to personal reasons

it doesn't necessarily matter what media or types of projects are in your portfolio...just make sure the presentation of your work is consistent and create an interesting narrative that you will walk your interviewer through while explaining your work...

thanks leah should i make a book to go along with the slides or should i just put everything on cd and submit that

make a book and include a cd along with it...they may not want to keep a leave behind though

your content DOES matter. but you have to present it well. yes, lots of pictures, LOTS OF PICTURES! GOOD PICTURES! and convey confidence with your layout i guess you could say.
have someone else look at your work and help you decide what should and shouldnt be included. it's nice to have another's opinion and not your own.
