  my ipod froze up on me, so a quick google search on the terms 'hardboot' and 'ipod':

  http://www.google.com/search?hl=…

  returned exactly what i needed... i didnt' even have to click on the link.

  so if any of you have ipod problems, just press and hold the menu and play button for 7 seconds. - no more waiting for the power to drain.
