Hello, I have tried to make my website a bit more proffesional yet retain some quirkiness. A couple of links don't work but most should. Any opinions?
Thankyou

what kind of response do you want to get out of your website? meaning, is it just for fun or do you want to make tons of money and travel the world being a illustrator or art director?

kinda weird

what site?

your random content showcase at the bottom takes power from your work. some of them are so small, it just looks wrong with the huge rectangle above it. maybe you could use the same shape for the work, only showing part of a photo, etc to seduce someone to clicking it or viewing your work.

I like it and the work, but the little scroll box is a bit annoying

errm... to make money and show my work, ideally tons of money but realistically i know i'm not that good. I just wanted to make a site that didn't look to corperate... looks like i am failing.

it doesnt look corporate, just need to show your work in a stronger way.

Look at the sites you want yours to look like and go from there. it is good to be unique but you also have to know your audience.

hello redfridge, i don't have a random showcase or at least i didn't think i did. think i need to go back to the drawing board to work out how to show the work in a stronger light.
and glad you like my illustration stuff, that is my main job, but i enjoy designing and big happen is a nice way of keeping it serperate. or will be...

a couple of things:
your style is quirky, so no matter how professional you try an make a site, it's still going to be quirky. so REALLY make a professional site and your style will come regardless. (and by that i mean, try and make it so it is easy to navigate, you can see all your work and it doesn't bother anyone who visits)
also, you arer a VISUAL artist, so make your work bigger and easy to see. that will turn people on and they will want to be with you and you will make lots of money. it's very simple.
your on the right path, you just need to go back to the drawing board. (also, just a thought, since your an illustrator, why no just draw out your website, navigation, graphics etc..., it could be cool....)
onward!

thanks Robotron3k, I see where your coming from. You are spot on. :)
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at it much apperciated. Back to the drawing board.

i agree with robotron. Somehow, you gotta cut yourself loose on this website, because it's all about YOU. Don't go halfway between corporate and quirky at this point in time. Either go all corporate, or all fun.
If this is a showcase of your design work, it needs more pieces. More screenshots of the sites you've done, etc. And for that tshirt design, I'd like to see what the actual shirt looked like. Show the placement of the illo on the shirt, not just the illo itself.
And that scrollbox at the top works on a conceptual level, but it doesn't look very original or interesting.

btw, I love the stuff you did for Unncut. Very nice.

nice work, nice site.
usually I hate scroll bars but I think they're used well here
- mybrokenshoe0
those scroll bars either bring out love or hate, two of my flamates hate them the other loves them!
I am still new to the design game so this is pretty much most of my work, though that is something i am trying to remedy. thanks for the help folks
