if you are on a mac use PopChar, you can select any symbol for any font in your system with it, just click it and it will add it to your document.

if it's too hard try what rabattski said.
basically unicode goes into the source code of your webpage to show special symbols..
you usually start with & + # + code + ;
without the spaces and the +'s.. NT can't handle unicode like that! ;)
