Although not offically the 9th yet over here...it is in Hong Kong, which means Happy Year of the Rooster!
Chinese New Year was always an awesome time in Hong Kong - a week off school, Lai See packets, the Flower Markets, the massive fireworks celebration, and the culmination of the New Year in a celebratory Lantern Festival, which was basically a good reason to go down the main beach in Repulse Bay, get pissed, and set lanterns on fire. It's funny, sitting here at the desk as I type this, I can still remember them so clearly...the sounds and smells...the people and places...the time me and some buddies decided to see if smoking bananna peels really did give you a high. It doesn't.

cock that is. Shees.
Japan's also in the year of the rooster, though they celebrated new years on 1st january like the rest of us. Not sure how they can mix those things.
Anyways, bottoms up, another reason to get wasted. Glad there's always a new new year handy somewhere around the world.
