Hello NTers,
I have this css file:
http://www.leox.com/peer/mainmen…now as you can see, #mainmenu a:hover has a change of background(rightmb1.gif) now what i want is that a:hover also changes the background of:
#mainmenu li to rightmb1.gif
is this possible? what's the proper way to do it? thanks !
- method_c0
sorry,
#mainmenu li has to change to leftmb1.gif
- MX_OnD0
have you tried
#mainmenu a:hover, #mainmenu li??
- MX_OnD0
actually sorry, I'm wrong.. that won't work it'll only give it the same style...
What you want to do is to target the li when you roll over the link, right?
- method_c0
yes indeed, li has to switch bg when you roll over the link a
- MX_OnD0
have you tried using project7's überlinks?
http://www.projectseven.com/tuto…
Seems to be what you're trying to do.... let me know.
- method_c0
i don't think that will work, what i want do to must look something like this :
}
#mainmenu a:hover li {
float:left;
background:url("leftmb1.gif") no-repeat..this doesn;t work
but this action has to be placed in the #mainmenu a:hover part, so that li bg changes when you roll over the link (somewhere else)

then you're probably looking at some JavaScript, no?
- method_c0
so no way to do this in CSS?
:-(
- MX_OnD0
Don't think so. What you're trying to do is to say that when you roll over object1 object 2 should also display it's roll over state....

that's it, need the left side of the button also to change.. so your guess would be javascript?
- MX_OnD0
looks like yer makin' more complicated than it has to be.
1. STOAP USIN' TABLES!
2. Seriously the Project7 überlinks are exactly what you need.
