Mac's do not use a BIOS like PeeCee's do
they do use OpenFirmware
here's a link with more info: http://www.kernelthread.com/mac/…There really isnt a need for you to get into the firmware and you can really mess up your mac in here and I think it may voide your warranty, so be carfull.
here is some more info on Mac Boot keys to use during startup

i got an old imac of ebay cos my parents like my mac - but the guy u sold it to me is an ass and wont help me at all
i need to load a new version of the os cos the jerk wont give me the password so i wanted to know how to boot from the cd drive and have a clean install
- k0na_an0k0
did you give him a bad comment?
- ribit0
put CD in drive, open the icon thing, read instructions on how to install
or hold down the 'c' key on startup to boot straight to installer CD

what ribit said, stop over thinking things, its a mac after all...

yeah macs are easy.

unless they guy is a huge butt head and installed a password on the firmware.. then your screwd..

boot off the CD (restart holding C key) and first use disk utility to erase AND zero the disk.
if you're gonna reinstall the system (which is hella easy on macs) might as well start fresh & clean.
