cool, thanks...

shyness is a life lived double strength the things you hate, the irony is; you don't actually hate those things, you love them for what you cannot be and see the reality those you envy miss.

that hurt my brain, rasko
- rasko40
probably just me then.
ouch.
- antigirl0
that hurt my lil head too rasko. maybe it was the hydrocodonine i took i derno .
i got two sides. i met total strangers and i start telling them all without 5 minutes, and things i shouldnt be saying at all. but than for the most part i am pretty shy. so when i start telling so much shit with no background, people arel ike wht the fuck is wrong with you! but i don't like surprises later on. two sides to a personality sucks, but i'ma dealwith it.

rasko, i think i understand.
there is this stretch of nice restaurants in north oakland by my old house. coming off the subway after a long day at work, i would walk by these good looking couples eating fancy dishes and sipping expensive bottles of merlot, and in the cold dark night i resented them for their wealth and their their happiness and their (alleged) snobbery. deep down though, i just wanted to be inside and warm and sitting with the pretty girl.
sorry about my earlier comment, antigirl, hot nectars on vicodin just get me all hot and bothered....

The answer as to the appearance of this trend is elementary.
It is attributable to the growing interest in modernism and design in general.
I know a 32 year old programmer and her husband (also a programmer) who are now jumping on the design bandwagon. She wants to do graphics/web/print and he wants to make the next iPod.
Blame Apple.
Am I off?
Maybe design has always become more and more popular and I'm too green to see it.
I think it's great.
If there were more designers in the 30's and 40's... maybe transportation would have been thought through a little more. Maybe all of those ugly government buildings would actually be inviting - thus improving the image of bureaucracy.

what's wrong with transportation?

What's wrong with transportation?
Every American city now has zillions of cars littering the streets (and sidewalks). Automobiles that air and noise pollution. Intestates/highways are more dangerous than ever and promote, not discourage urban sprawl.
That's what is wrong with transportation.
Now we have to try to unravel / undo decades of neglect. Problems that could have been prevented through sustainable design.

given the nature of the human species as well as the capitalistic nature of our society, that's asking for a bit much eh?
wasnt that post meant for 'Designers'?
- scarabin0
i thought you meant ugly cars or somethin'.
