This has been discussed before now, but not for a while and there has been quite a few new companies also some old companies that in my view have come up in the world.
and well some that have gone down.

The best are the ones that are hardly hyped, so not your fantasy interfaces, 2A's etc. But think about Method, BlastRadius and iconmedialab. The guys have been here since the start and are still delivering one of the best sites in terms of interaction and plain usability.
They are maybe not pushing the boudaries but they make sites for clients that don't want that.
Other I like: Yugop, Attik, Joshua Davis, hi-res.
