seeing this movie yesterday really took me down memory lane. do you remember how hot jami gertz once was? do you remember rocking out to hazy shade of winter, wishing suzanne vega was your goth queen?
also, i think it's ironic that this happens to be robert downey jr.'s best role (who watched chaplin anyway?), and yet his life turned out exactly like his character in the film, a cocksmoking junkie who has a hard time waking up in the correct address.
speaking of which, i think vh1 should really push this reality theme and get robert downey jr., scott weiland and jan michael vincent to live in a house together in venice, right next door to a pusher named jesus (that's hay-zeus) or even james spader, if he's not selling star maps on sunset. can you imagine the dramatic tension? can you imagine the emergency yoga sessions to ward off the temptation? if anybody can make this happen, i'll gladly relinquish copyright and just take a 5% cut for my consultant's role.
think about it. this could be huge.

yeah, we do probably need a token female in the house, just to make sure robert and scott aren't freebasing off each other's abs. is tara reid available? can she play a recovering addict? is ruthie from real world hawaii too over the top? should we get hillary swank to reinact her performance in the next karate kid?

the first time i read the book, i hated it, somehow i decided to give it another try and it's brilliant and seriously twisted.
remeber jamie gertz as "Star" in the lost boys...or when she was on square pegs with a headpeice?

ah, yes, star--she was so lovely. but don't forget jami gertz was also molly ringwald's friend in 16 candles and kevin bacon's love interest in quicksilver. with that in mind, can you think of another actress with this kind of credentials?
btw: is andrew mccarthy and timothy hutton the same person?
