If you can't wait a week for a book..buy it from a store (free shipping).
otherwise..pay the extra shipping whenever the rare event arises.
I personally don't feel the public is ready for this plan (and I guess other stock holders feel the same way...).

Amazon Prime now offers free streaming movies and TV shows on PS3! Just tried it last night and it works as good as netflix. I'm going to have to to compare the libraries to see see if it's worth even keeping Netflix anymore.

Worth it for me just for the "free" aka $80 shipping alone. Amazon is great for purchasing shit, 90% of the time they have the lowest price. They ship super fast. Plus I really like the option to buying it with one click. Just like scarabin, I make one purchase a week typically though. Just the free movies alone means it's about $6.50 a month, cheaper than NetFlix. But you get free shipping on things you purchase, which, if you buy a lot of shit all the time, adds up quickly.

Worth it for the $4 next day shipping. It's saved my ass many times, and the 2-day shipping is perfect for everything else. The video service sucks though, at least if you already have Hulu or whatever. I paid extra to upgrade from the student level (after my free year was up) and was disappointed, but then maybe I'm just spoiled by BitTorrent.

To clarify: Amazon Instant Video and Prime Instant Video are not the same. I have yet to find something I wanted to watch that wouldn't charge me anyway.
