Pardon me while I vent....
Ahh. This sucks. Every other sponsor logo I have is nice, clean vector art so I can resize and change colors with ease, not have to worry about print quality. Then I get this friggin’ TIF logo – saved with indexed color of all things. Not only is the logo REALLY wide, but it’s a typeface I don’t have so I can’t just type it in, clean it up and be done with it. If it were a font I actually liked, I wouldn’t hesitate to fork over the cash for it (yes, I’m that anal). But it’s a friggin’ engraver-esque, all caps font that I will never have any use for again. So not worth the $22 – and I know my cheap-ass employer ain’t gonna pay for it (even if my very happiness, not to mention sanity, is at stake). Argh! I’ve got four more newspaper ads, a program and an ungodly amount of paraphernalia for the stupid luncheon to produce and this dumb-ass sponsor logo goes on everything. PIECE OF SHIT!!!
Sorry and thanks! You may now return to your regulary scheduled postings ;)

i'll redraw it, i have EVERY FONT IN THE WORLD!

I knew someone here would feel my pain! (Yes, actually I do feel a bit better.)
That's what happens when you work for a company that produces events and forces me - solo designer girl - to deal with dumb-ass sponsors who have no freaking clue how to save files. Geez!
You really willing to redraw for me? The font is Engravure. I'll gladly email you the jpg.
- tuig0
ive got every font in the world plus one.
- swollenelbow0

i just got a 2 pack font and that puts me up 1 tuig.

You think you have it bad at work. My office chair is a bicycle seat post and seat..... without the seat part.

client: "do you need anything from us?"
designer: "I need your logo, preferably as an eps. hi rez is a must"
client: "no problem. I'll have it emailed within the hour"
result: your inbox now contains a f*ckin gif logo from their shitty website and its 270x38

Oh, puhlease, k0na. :::rolling eyes:::
Not to start anything (since you amuse me terribly on a daily basis)....
- lymlyt0
No shit! I can't tell you how many times the idiots here have gone to the client site and pulled the jpeg or gif themselves when I request a hi-rez, print-quality logo.
They never learn ;)

their kerning was a little screwy but at that point you could care less about that shit.
tell them that the dollar bill font has been played since ben franklin tied a key to his kite.
ZING!
- lymlyt0
I couldn't agree more. Every time I have to reset a logo for one of our sponsors, I have soooo tempted to fix the kerning too.
They probably wouldn't even notice.

girls should always have their picture on their websites.

I've had this happen to me too. Normally if I can get away with it. I just say I can't use any format but AI or EPS for logos.....
..if they don't give that format, I just tell them it can't be printed :)
