In a smiliar vein - how easy is it for foreigners to set up businesses there?
Any ex-pats with experience?

actually a agency asked if I had a wrok permit to work in the Netherlands.
I was just curious if anybody had any experience in having to go throught the process.

Did you get that from Media Catalyst, opiate?
- opiate0
yeah, actually been thinking about tryin to make may way over there for the past 6 months. Might just pick up and go without the job and try while I am there.

Cool, I got that from them this a.m. too. I've been applying here and there in the Netherlands for about a year now, but nothing solid has come from it.
I think maybe just going for it will work better. Best of luck to you!

Mr_s.-- u too, have you been getting any good feedback from over there? Because it's either there or southern California for me. Just need to pick a place and go.

I had an interview in September at QuA and it went well, but they had just hired 2 designers the week before I arrived so there were no more fulltime vacancies.
I also have my book with Dietwee right now, they're in Utrecht but do wicked stuff, but I haven't heard back from them.
Overall my work has been received better in Europe than in Canada, but not being in the city you're applying in does hurt the chances...
Just out of curiosity, why so cal as well?

I am from California originally. Just like the west coast, surf snowboard and sun.
It's been difficult to try and get out there as well. Being all th eway on the other side of the country does'nt help. I have one place that looks pretty promising right now. Had a couple interviews and should find out in a week or two.
good luck to you and nice work.

Plus there are tons of good design studios in Cali too. I'd love to live in San Fran and work at either Cahan or Howry.
Cheers for the comment, I like your work too, we have a similar mix of work/projects.
btw I did get a new job in Toronto yesterday! see 'New Job!!" thread.

Congrats.
Sf would be killer. I have been talking with EVB but they kinda dropped off the face of the earth. I am just gonna keep bugging them though. The ones u mentioned would be ideal . I love that area. that is where i am from. right outside SF. Walnut Creek area. I just like Santa monica a little more.

Nice. Never been down there, but this summer hopefully my wife and I can check out the US a bit more. I've mostly just been in the midwest and east coast.
// Yeah I remember seeing a post for EVB hiring multiple positions, hmmmm...
