if its an artist i really like then i'll go out and buy the CD
1. to give the artist some money
2. so i have it forever
3. i have a hardcopy WITH sleevenotes/lyrics/photosi only use fileshare progs for stuff that theres no way i could get on cd or maybe for getting a few songs off a new album to hear what its like. if i like it il go out and buy the album.
most of the mp3s ive downloaded to this date is music ive got on tape or on vinyl anyway so ive already given the artist their dues from me.
if i ever get taken to court for downloading illegal mp3s thats how im gonna justify myself.

they are going to do a commercial to attack iTunes during the Superbowl stating that if a user was to BUY 10,000 songs for their ipod how much it would cost verses their subscription fee.
What they won't mention is that when you quit paying the fees you lose the songs- so I will need to pay per month for the rest of my life to OWN the tunes- how much do you think that will cost?
If I buy them from iTunes- they are mine- end of story.

so what if your internet connection goes down? you can't listen to your music?
can you burn the songs you download to a cd? if so, why not just burn the songs to music cds and rip them to mp3's?
are there restrictions on how many times you listen to your songs on those portable players?
